EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy:
What Is It?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a systematic, eight-step treatment designed to work with the memory networks that fuel post-traumatic stress. After an initial review and preparation, the therapist identifies a target image, an unhelpful core belief (such as “I'm unsafe”), the related feelings, and the physical reactions, while also rating current distress and belief strength. The client then briefly activates the memory as the therapist guides sets of stimulation. As the intensity decreases, the process shifts toward reinforcing a more adaptive belief, scanning the body to release residual tension, and rehearsing a “future template”—mentally practicing healthier responses in upcoming situations. Every appointment begins with a check-in to confirm progress and to select the next focus point.
EMDR 2.0:
How It's Different (and Faster)?
EMDR 2.0 builds on the original method by layering in more dynamic cognitive challenges—such as subtracting in steps of seven, rapid color naming, tracking fast-moving visuals, or solving quick number tasks—while you briefly bring the memory to mind. These activities occupy working memory, reducing the emotional punch of the recollection and allowing the brain to reconsolidate it in a calmer state. The sequences are brief and efficient, with the therapist adjusting speed and complexity moment to moment. The process concludes once distress is nearly gone, followed by strengthening a positive belief, a swift body scan to clear leftover activation, and mental rehearsal of future responses so the improvements carry forward into everyday life.

Benefits of EMDR
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help your brain reprocess extreme experiences and store them in an adaptive form, thus encouraging your nervous system to return to normal functioning.
Natural Healing Process
Allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.
Resolve Trauma
Designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain.
Effective for Anxiety and Depression
EMDR also works on anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.
